3 women rescued after holding onto Grand Canyon ledge during flood
On August 29, Jessica Buscher, Melanie McGuirk, and Katie Brink managed to survive a flash flood at the Grand Canyon by gripping a rock ledge for five hours. A rescue helicopter eventually airlifted the trio to safety. The flooding event resulted in two deaths and triggered more than 80 rescue operations throughout the canyon.
