3 Gujarat dermatologists suspended following pharma-funded European tour
The Gujarat Medical Council has handed down a 13-month suspension to three dermatologists due to professional misconduct involving a trip to Paris and Monaco in 2024 that was paid for by a pharmaceutical firm. Throughout this suspension, these doctors are prohibited from engaging in medical practice. This move comes after an investigation by the National Medical Commission (NMC) into foreign travel and hospitality perks accepted by medical professionals across various states, marking this as an unusual instance of such disciplinary measures.
