₹285-crore NASA mission to rescue Swift telescope called off
NASA and Katalyst Space have cancelled a $30 million (over ₹285 crore) project to rescue the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory. This decision comes after the LINK rescue spacecraft experienced ongoing issues with its attitude control. The LINK vehicle was designed to latch onto Swift and boost its falling orbit. Originally launched in 2004, Swift is now projected to fall back into Earth's atmosphere and disintegrate later this year.
