20-year sentence handed down in Texas Killing Fields murder case
A Galveston County jury has sentenced 61-year-old James Dolphs Elmore Jr. to 20 years behind bars. He was found guilty of manslaughter regarding the 1986 death of 16-year-old Laura Miller, whose body was discovered in the well-known 'Texas Killing Fields' area close to Houston. Elmore was found to have prepared the lethal dose of cocaine that Clyde Hedrick gave to Miller. Hedrick passed away by suicide prior to the start of the trial.
