10 held as Mumbai Police uncover engineering admission scam
Mumbai Police have taken 10 individuals into custody for their involvement in a fraudulent college admission scheme. DCP Datta Nalawade confirmed the arrests followed a complaint from a student who was swindled out of ₹16 lakh for an engineering seat. The suspects reportedly utilized targeted social media ads and escorted students to private university grounds, falsely guaranteeing spots via management or NRI quotas. Authorities have confiscated 22 mobile phones along with other relevant items.
